Text & Keyboards is a script for Adobe After Effects that can quickly create animations of typed text, create and animate keyboards and automatically add sound effects.

The examples were created using only Text & Keyboards script. Everything, including sound effects, can be created in under 1 minute.

Typing Text Examples

Typing Text works with any font or style. Blinking cursor can be easily changed or even replaced with your own layer.

Limitations

Currently, the script has a list of limitations required for its correct work:
  • Keyboards only support English language and QWERTY layout.
  • Typing text layers only support left-to-right languages.
  • Typing text layers should be left aligned.
  • Cursor may not work properly with BoxText layers(that is, when you drag out an area with the Type tool and type inside that area). Use regular Text layers instead.

Description

A script panel for After Effects that creates text, which you can type, and keyboards, on which you can type. As simple as that. But it’s actually quite powerful.
  1. Create typing text that can be easily animated with 2 or more keyframes.
  2. Add a blinking cursor and define its shape.
  3. Add a keyboard. Start from 3 predefined presets: Windows, Mac, iOS, and then change them how you want.
  4. Finally, add sound FX.
